Sit And Serge Club

Ready to get comfortable with your serger and build your confidence? Join us for this open-style serger workshop! Bring along your serger machine, manual, standard accessories, project materials, and extra practice fabric.

Whether you're starting a brand-new project or finishing up one that's already in progress, this club gives you dedicated time and space to work. For beginners or anyone looking for a quick, practical starter idea, we suggest crafting a set of reusable "UnPaper Towels"—a great way to master basic serging techniques while making something useful for your home.   If you want to make these UnPaper Towels they can be either single layer or double layer.  You can get 3 single towels from 1/3 yard of flannel.  You will also need 2 spools of 30 wt thread such as Sulky Blendables and 2 spools of 50 wt thread.  We would suggest a curved foot for your serger if you have one.  Prewash the fabric before coming to class.

  This is a collaborative, open-studio club built around community and shared learning!

  • Community-Led Support: While there is no formal instructor leading a step-by-step lecture, a dedicated facilitator will be on hand to keep things running smoothly.

• Space & Equipment Notice

  • Registration Encouraged: Space is limited, so please register in advance to reserve your spot!

  • No Serger? No Problem! Thinking about trying out a serger before buying one? We have a limited number of machines available to borrow during the club meeting.

  • Reserve Your Machine: Machine reservations are first-come, first-served and must be requested ahead of time. This is the perfect risk-free way to dip your toes in and see if serging is for you!
