Cutting:
Setting Pieces and borders:
Fabric No. to cut Size to Cut Location
White 1 8 ½” x 8 ½” Center Square
4 2 ½” x 8 ½” Setting Strips
4 2 ½” x 6 ½” Setting Strips
Dark Pink 2 *1” x ? * Inner border sides
2 *1” x ? * Inner border top and bottom
Medium Pink 2 *5 ½” x ? *Side Borders
2 *5 ½” x ? * Top and Bottom Borders
* Always finish center of quilt before cutting borders. When complete and pressed, measure the center of the quilt top to bottom and use that measurement for the side borders. After attaching side borders, press seams and measure across the center of the quilt including the side borders for top and bottom border measurement. Repeat process for additional borders. This insures that your quilt will be square.
Cut the following pieces and label with location numbers BEFORE class begins.
There will not be time for cutting of fabric during class. Please have all the pieces cut as shown on next page before class begins. Cut each group of squares and rectangles, stack them up and place them in small plastic bags. Put a small piece of paper in the bag with the location of the piece. In class, these stacks of fabric will be lined up by your sewing machine and used in order. This will keep things organized for the piecing.
Freezer paper: Before class, cut (4) 8” squares and (8) 6” squares of freezer paper and bring to class.
